Kate + Patrick | Lyons Colorado Wedding Photographer, Boulder Wedding Photographer | Lyons, Colorado

If you haven’t been to Lyons, Colorado you are missing out on a quaint mountain town with a lot of charm.

On April 1st I had the absolute pleasure of second shooting for Amber (check out her gorgeous work!) at Lionscrest Manor.  As a photographer that caters to the off-beat bride, I hadn’t had the opportunity to photograph at this lovely venue before.  It was a rainy spring day, with a red mud road leading up to the venue. Very Colorado “mud season”.  As a moodier style photographer, my favorite shooting conditions are when it has just rained and the colors are all vibrant, and rich.

Patrick and Kate’s wedding is one of my favorites that I have assisted! They were fun, and relaxed.  Both of them understood what their wedding day represents: each other.  Also, it is such an honor to be able to photograph beside another photographer that I find to be so talented.  To be able to assist someone else is always a great opportunity for me.  It means that I get a fresh perspective.  I get stuck in my ways.  No matter how long I have been photographing, there is always something new to learn!

Before the wedding, Patrick and the groomsmen hung out in a cabin with a small fire going.  I always love hanging out with the guys while they hang out because of the excitement of the day.  Everyone is in good spirits and they are usually making the best jokes.

The quiet moments are my favorite.  After all, the ladies have so much happening throughout the day, right before the ceremony, everyone gets quiet to take it all in.  Every time.  Those precious minutes right before everyone walks down the aisle, and the bride says “I do”.  Those are sacred.

After the ceremony, we took the bridal party and close family outside to get some quick photos.

And then comes my FAVORITE part!!

The bride and groom photos.  There is nothing like that feeling right after the first kiss as man and wife.  I will never forget how it felt for me! Seeing every couple that I have ever photographed with that feeling still gives me all the feels.  Every time!
