Michael + Jessica || Iowa Wedding Photographers, Destination Wedding Photographers | West Des Moines, Iowa

Last summer, I had the absolute pleasure of assisting Micah of And Two Were Tamed  with Michael and Jessica’s wedding all the way in Iowa.  We woke up early and started our 9.5 hour journey so that we could get there in time for the rehearsal dinner.  As we drove through Nebraska, we kept laughing that the theme of our trip was corn fields, but as it turns out, photos in corn fields are nothing short of amazing.

When I first met Jessica I knew we were going to get along well.  She was fun, outspoken, and full of energy.  She and Michael live in Chicago, and when they got engaged they agreed to get married where Michael grew up–in West Des Moines.  As a destination wedding photographer, I am lucky enough to say that I have been a lot of places, but surprisingly I had never been anywhere outside of the airport in Iowa.  The morning of the wedding, Micah and I joined Jessica for some yoga on the front yard of the venue, among the flower garden. I have a new belief that every bride should do yoga before her wedding day begins.  I sets the mood for the whole day.

They put so much time and love into the decorations.  Even though they got married in a brick barn, the roaring 20’s theme of all of the guests made it a wedding for the books.

No better way to end a wedding day than by the fire.
Venue: The Keller Brick Barn
2nd shot for: And Two Were Tamed

So, if you are getting married anywhere in the US my rates include travel, so email me! I am addicted to traveling an sharing stories all over the world. Go check out my instagram for my most recent work, and to follow along with my crazy stories.
